Our History

The personal history of every Christian and every Christian church is a testimony to the gracious and sovereign hand of God! And Crossroads Community Church is certainly no exception.

In 1996, a few families from Christ Community Church in Carmel (the flagship PCA church for the Indy Network) started meeting together for Bible study and prayer, desiring to experience community in their area of the city. These meetings were graciously hosted by Dr. & Mrs. Bill Lynn, with Bill being an elder at Christ Community Church. They began sensing the leading of God to start a new church in the Fishers/Noblesville/Geist area. Tim Kirk, Senior Pastor of Christ Community Church, worked with them to discern God’s calling, to establish some basic elements of their vision, and to pray for a church planter.

At the same time this small core group began praying for a church planter, God was simultaneously calling Scott and Laurel Dean to explore the possibility of planting a church. They attended the PCA’s Church Planting Assessment Center and were approved to plant a church anywhere in North America. But God made it quickly apparent that Scott and Laurel were called to plant this new church in the Fishers/Noblesville/Geist community with a goal of reaching unchurched and de-churched people with the love of Christ.

Since Crossroads Community Church held its first worship service on November 15, 1998, our vision has been to glorify God by reaching the lost and discipling the found. It is a burden on the hearts of the entire congregation that tens of thousands remain unchurched in the Fishers/Noblesville/Geist areas alone. We have asked God to use Crossroads Community Church to bring people unto Himself.

And God has been so good to us! In 2001, a Forward By Faith team was established to begin the process of identifying possible tracts of land upon which Crossroads might be able to construct a church building in the future. In April, 2002, the Forward By Faith team recommended to the congregation the purchase of 15 acres of land located on I-238, exactly 1.3 miles southeast of Exit 10 on I-69.

In December 2005, Crossroads dedicated its new 16,300 sq. ft Phase 1 facility, a multi-purpose facility used for worship, fellowship, education and recreation.  In the future, our vision is to construct additional phases to our church building, adding a dedicated sanctuary, fellowship hall, educational areas and youth ministry facilities.

We also hope to increase the scope of our current sports and recreation ministry, with ball fields and even more gymnasium activities.  The timing of these additional phases we are leaving entirely in the Lord's hands.  As He blesses Crossroads, we hope to continue to Build on Faith.
