2011 Men’s Bible Challenge – The 2011 Bible Challenge officially kicked off on January 1st with men signing up for one of the two reading plans below. If you missed the initial callout you are still encouraged to jump in and join us at any time. The goal is not to finish a specific reading plan–but to spend more time in God’s Word. Also, as part of the challenge, we pair men up to keep each other accountable in their reading, but also to share with each other what they are learning and how they can pray for each other. If you want to participate in this Bible challenge, please contact the Men’s Ministry.

Reading Plan 1: Read the Bible in a Year

The link below is for a Read the Bible in a Year Program. This specific reading plan calls for the reader to each day read two different passages of Old Testament and two different passages of the New Testament. For most of the year one of the OT passages is from Psalms or Proverbs. This plan is also great in that each month has a few make-up days!

Reading Plan 2: 12 Books in 12 Months

Select 10-12 books to read over the next year. This reading plan is presented with the idea that you would spend as much time reading each day as you would in the in the Bible in a Year Plan, however you will read and study in more depth. This plan gives more freedom to reread, journal, and study commentaries to gain a better understanding of what God is speaking. In this option we would leave it up to you to determine which books you want to read through. Keep in mind, this is a slightly less structured reading plan, if you have struggled in the past coming up with a plan and/or sticking to a plan for daily Scripture reading, I would recommend Reading Plan 1. Below is an example of what you can do with this plan, but again it is up to you to pick your 12 books.

Month 1 – Job
Month 2 and 3 – Isaiah
Month 4 and 5 – Jeremiah
Month 6 – Proverbs
Month 7 – Ecclesiastes
Month 8 and 9 – Gospels
Month 10 – Acts
Month 11 – Romans
Month 12 – Revelations
